Blood Week claimed another soul Thursday night when Santa Clara snapped an 0-for-26 against Gonzaga and FAU only missed a date with the reaper thanks to some dubious end-of-game shenanigans from the refs. And now it’s the weekend.
Each week during the year, we’ll talk about three games on the weekend slate—one you have to see, one you have to keep an eye on and one you should avoid at all costs. It’s like someone perused the movie theater listings and curated your choices so there’s no chance you pay 18 good American dollars to see Night Swim.
As always, the weekend begins at 7 p.m. ET on Friday. Apologies to a Minnesota-Indiana matchup I likely would’ve avoided as a matter of principle anyway.
Must Watch (Times ET)
No. 9 Oklahoma at No. 3 Kansas (2 p.m., Saturday, Big 12 Network/ESPN+)
Someone loses this game, because the rules are pretty clear on that. History says it’ll be Oklahoma. They have 10 wins against Kansas since 1996 and no wins in Lawrence since 1993. The entirety of the modern Czech Republic, or Oklahoma getting its head caved in whenever the Sooners visit Lawrence: it’s all the same to the history book.
