It’s a lot, this time of year. Everybody is playing once or twice each weekend as they jockey for positions in March, and the stakes are high for practically every game.
The above is what I’m telling myself because ooooohweeee do some of the matchups stink out loud this week.
Each week during the year, we’ll talk about three games on the weekend slate—one you have to see, one you have to keep an eye on and one you should avoid at all costs. It’s like free samples at the grocery store, but one of them is for Instant Oats and I knock that one out of your hands.
As always, the weekend begins at 7 p.m. ET on Friday. Nobody in the Happy Hour Apologies slot this week. A tragedy for art and commerce alike.
Must Watch (Times ET)
No. 2 Houston at No. 11 Baylor (12 p.m., Saturday, CBS)
I know who you are by now Houston. You don’t score a lot but you make life hell on opponents with your athleticism, effort and commitment to defending every square inch of floor space you can find. Of any team this season, Houston would be my choice for having an invisible sixth man out on the floor wreaking havoc at all times, so committed are they to chaos.
But Baylor.
