We’re going quick and abbreviated this week; I’m on vacation in Chicago (insomuch as one vacations with two small children) and I gave you 1,500 words on resolutions yesterday, as a treat.
Each week during the year, we’ll talk about three games on the weekend slate—one you have to see, one you have to keep an eye on and one you should avoid at all costs. It’s like someone is out there pregaming your New Year’s Resolutions for you.
PROGRAMMING NOTE: This week, think of the must-watches as late non-conference tests that used to look easier, the monitors as early conference battles to separate wheat from chafe, and the avoids as the usual crap and bilge.
As always, the weekend begins at 7 p.m. ET on Friday. Apologies to Kennesaw State up in Bloomington looking to add misery to Indiana.
Must Watch (Times ET)
Indiana State at Michigan State (2 p.m., Saturday, FS1)
Some months ago, I’m sure this looked much more palatable for Michigan State. A nice, if not altogether patsy-able, Indiana State team to put the finishing touches on a non-league schedule that had heft but nothing that should’ve threatened a Spartan squad that, frankly, everyone thought would have a turn as the No. 1 team in the land by now.
Or… not… that.
