Last weekend was a bit hit-or-miss, as much for the wonkiness of finals taking place at many college campuses across the country. Yes, they do make the kids go to class; a great many of them turn out to be smarter than you or I by several miles.
This weekend, it’s murderer’s row. But with college hoops, the NFL, college football and any NHL/NBA interests you might have, there’s just so much. So much to watch, keep track of, gamble on (if that’s your thing), tweet about while you can. You’re but one person, with a phone and a tv and a laptop, maybe an iPad, perhaps another tv or two… my point is, you have a finite number of screens to devote to Division I hoops the next couple of days. Let me help you with your weekend viewing plans.
As always, the weekend starts at 7 p.m. ET on Friday; actual apologies to Georgetown and Xavier, who tip at 6:30 on the East Coast and might have snagged a Monitor for this week otherwise. Fake rules I made up must be strictly adhered to around here; that (and several billion dollars) is what separates me from Twitter.
Must Watch (Times ET)
No. 5 Houston at No. 2 Virginia, 2 p.m., Saturday (ESPN2)
Saturday features five matchups between top-25 teams, but only this one has two legitimate top-five powers duking it out. That this game is on ESPN2 instead of Mothership Main Channel because we cannot, we must not, interfere with the Fenway Bowl or the Las Vegas Bowl is why everything is awful.
