Watch, Monitor, Don't: December 1, 2023
Yeah, the football conference championships. I've heard.
Sure, you could watch Georgia and Alabama do gridiron battle. You could watch Oregon and Washington hammer the final nail in the Pac 12 coffin. You could watch Iowa punt on second down against a visibly distraught Michigan. But you’d rather save your bullets for the Battle of Rhode Island, and we both know it.
Each week during the year, we’ll talk about three games on the weekend slate—one you have to see, one you have to keep an eye on and one you should avoid at all costs. It’s like being a secret shopper, only you might hate what they bring you and you won’t hate this (or me, probably).
As always, the weekend begins at 7 p.m. ET on Friday. Apologies to a positively tasty Houston-Xavier matchup as part of the Big East-Big 12 Battle.
Must Watch (Times ET)
No. 4 UConn at No. 5 Kansas (9 p.m., Friday, ESPN2)
Look, we could try to go all hipster’s delight here, but let’s not overthink things here. It’s the top five matchup between two of only a handful of teams (to this point) with real aspirations of cutting down the nets in March that’s our weekend’s meeting of choice.
