The People Have Spoken
Because my friends are smart, funny and handsome and occasionally pay attention to basketball.
I know a lot of people with a relationship to college basketball. Some cover it, some love it, some went to a school with it as a campus cornerstone, and some of the people I contacted for this I thought might have some of these feelings and thoughts but are now reconsidering the nature of our relationship by my parachuting in out of the clear blue sky to ask them about Auburn.
This is not a panel of experts. This a panel of people I know personally with skin in the game in some capacity. And to a man (or woman), they believe their team is making the second weekend.
Without further ado, I present their thoughts, only lightly edited.
Mike (Kentucky fan, familial bon vivant): They could get to the Final Four or get beat in the second game. It just depends on how they want to play, together or my turn. They have not decided to play defense for more than three games; if they do, then they could be special.
Josh (Western Kentucky alum, having another child): I predict a Sweet 16 for WKU. Reasons being: I haven’t seen a game all year and couldn’t name a single player on the team. I did see on Twitter where they joined elite company with 20 win seasons. I also saw where they were playing UTEP on the bottom ticker while watching Auburn in the SEC tourney. WKU may be the best team in Kentucky. There’s a reason why Calipari won’t schedule them. Reed Sheppard may be my cousin but my granddaddy was good friends with E.A. Diddle so GO TOPS!
